Airport management is ultimately a people business. TAP brings together experienced aviation professionals who believe good leadership, strong relationships, and a commitment to service are just as important as knowing how to run the airport.

That philosophy shapes how TAP works. We value people who take ownership, communicate well, solve problems, and understand that airport management is ultimately a service business.

The work itself is broad, from daily operations and regulatory coordination to capital planning, leasing, development, and public communication. Whatever the assignment, the approach is the same: work as a team, stay accountable, and keep the airport and its users at the center of the decision.

President

Jim Wimberly

Jim’s career has taken him from managing airports in Houston to the executive ranks for Southwest Airlines, with decades spent inside the decisions that shape aviation.

Retirement, as it turns out, never really suited him. Instead of stepping away from the industry, Jim brought that experience back to the airport side of the business, helping launch TAP and putting a career’s worth of leadership and operational knowledge to work in general aviation. In many ways, it was a full-circle move: back to the field, back to the people, and back to the day-to-day work of making airports better.

Vice President

Cassidy Berenato

Cassidy joined Texas Aviation Partners in 2010 and has grown with the company from marketing and business development into nearly every aspect of airport management. Today, as Vice President, her work spans leasing, tenant relations, financial administration, capital funding, construction, business development, marketing, and long-range planning.

She works closely with tenants from initial discussions through lease negotiations and execution, while also coordinating with local governments, TxDOT Aviation, and the FAA on funding, regulatory requirements, development projects, and airport planning. Cassidy has helped guide major infrastructure investments, business recruitment, and implementation of the airport’s long-term development plan.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Business Foundations, Cassidy also brings the airport perspective into the broader business community through leadership roles with the Texas Airports Council and the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce.

Senior Administrator

Melanie Germany

Melanie brings more than a decade of entrepreneurial experience to her role as Senior Administrator. Before joining TAP in 2022, she owned and managed her own business, working with multiple companies and building a strong background in accounting, administration, and business operations.

Her primary focus at TAP is on the financial and business side of the company, supporting reporting, administrative processes, and the day-to-day functions that keep the organization running smoothly. At the same time, Melanie regularly steps in to assist with operational needs across the airport and company whenever needed.

She brings a practical, service-oriented approach to her work and is known for managing competing priorities, keeping things organized, and building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, tenants, and the TAP team.

Operations Superintendent

Aaron Arguien

Aaron supports the day-to-day maintenance and operational readiness of San Marcos Regional Airport. His work includes mowing, FOD removal, sweeping, airfield lighting, wildlife management, and the many other routine and unexpected needs that come with maintaining an active airport.

Aaron first came to the airport in 2016, when his private company was contracted to mow and maintain portions of the airfield. Over time, the work expanded, Aaron caught the aviation bug, and what started as a contract role eventually became a full-time position with TAP in 2024.

Aaron is especially mindful of San Marcos Regional Airport’s long military history and its place within the broader Central Texas community. He takes pride in helping keep the airport safe and functional while supporting its continued growth as a regional hub for people and goods.

Marketing and Operations Coordinator

Preston Wimberly

Preston joined Texas Aviation Partners in February 2026, bringing a background shaped by both creative work and hands-on project leadership. Before joining TAP, he spent a decade touring professionally as a lead guitarist, working in an environment that demanded discipline, adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to keep complex operations moving under pressure.

At TAP, Preston works across a broad range of airport and company projects, including facilities improvements, branding and communications, business development, operational planning, and special initiatives. His role often sits at the intersection of practical problem-solving and long-term development, helping move projects from an initial idea through planning, coordination, and execution.

He brings a builder’s mindset to the work, with a particular interest in how airports function, how people experience them, and how thoughtful improvements to infrastructure, facilities, and communication can strengthen an airport over time. Preston supports Texas Aviation Partners and San Marcos Regional Airport with a focus on useful, durable work and the continued development of the airport as an important Central Texas asset.
